The Role

You will lead a team of Operations Managers and clinical specialists to drive Child, Youth and Family programs and practice across South Queensland. You will have a strong commitment to, and expertise in, programs supporting children, youth and families, including out of home care, post care support services, early intervention, and youth justice. .

The South QLD portfolio extends from Gympie down to the QLD/NSW border and out to Toowoomba in the South West. Covering six individual regions, the position overseas approximately 500 children and young people in out of home care, and also holds responsibility for early intervention programs including Life Without Barriers social bond, YouthChoices

Flexible arrangements will allow a combination of working from home and in office however travel between regions will be necessary. Office location can be based at Milton, Maroochydore, Ipswich, Toowoomba, Shailer Park or Robina.   

Specifically you will:

  • Demonstrate strong leadership skill to facilitate and maximise collaboration amongst teams and achieve high quality services across Child, Youth and Family programs
  • Oversee the delivery, quality and compliance of services and program activities while meeting relevant statutory regulations, and accreditation standards
  • High level ability to manage complex risk environments
  • Support, coach, motivate and develop managers
  • Actively contribute to Queensland CYF’s Senior Leadership Team
  • Identify, build and maintain key relationships with stakeholders and funding and accreditation bodies
  • Develop and implement business development activities and program growth strategies
  • Demonstrated ability to manage

Once travel restrictions are lifted, travel is required across Queensland and some interstate travel.

Skills Required 

  • An energetic, passionate leader with extensive experience in the management of complex human services programs within a child protection, out of home care, youth justice or related service delivery environments.
  • Extensive experience working within a statutory framework and knowledge of legislation and regulation for care across child protection and youth justice.
  • Experience leading excellence in practice in human services programs, including application of evidence based programs
  • Strong, demonstrated ability to identify and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government funders and sector partners
  • Cultural competency to work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, families and communities and actively participate in Life Without Barrier’s Reconciliation Action Plan
  • Experience managing large, complex budgets across multiple funding streams
  • Ability to lead and manage business growth in line with organisational strategy and business plans
  • Tertiary qualifications in a human services related or business discipline
