The role

We are currently seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Project Officer - Carer Support to join our Mental Health team in Adelaide on a full-time basis until 30/06/2020, with potential for extension. The role will involve some travel throughout the Adelaide Hills.

This newly created role will be required to assist with the transition to the new Carer Gateway Service; supporting carers and their families to access respite activities and connect them to available Carer Gateway Services.

We are looking for someone who has a demonstrated ability in project management with experience in working with carers, or has personal experience in caring for, people living with mental health concerns, complex needs and or disability.  

The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to client centred service delivery and an understanding of working with the framework of recovery. As well as the ability to build relationships, engage with people from diverse backgrounds and work in partnership to ensure the best outcomes for carers and their families.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide support to management with the transition and implementation of new services for carers
  • Coordinate and support management to deliver project milestones.
  • Reporting requirements to the funding body.
  • Carry out other tasks that may be required at the direction of management.

Skills & Experience

  • Experience in providing project lead and support.
  • Ability to manage sensitive information and maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Well-developed ability to use initiative, think laterally and strategically.
  • Effective time management and organisational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to use the Microsoft Office suite of programs.
  • Well-developed problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
  • Strong written and oral communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • A current drivers’ licence

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check.
