About the role

We are seeking a values driven, positive and highly experienced Aged Care Program Manager to lead and manage Aged Care individualised support services across Mackay and Rockhampton. The successful incumbent can be based in any of these locations, with an expectation of regular travel to each city.  

This position would suit someone with management experience who is driven to lead and develop a team that that delivers person centred and goal driven services to support our clients to live independently. We are looking for someone to contribute to the growth of LWB’s Home Based Aged Care Services in Mackay and Rockhampton and who is passionate about this sector. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Build high performing teams to ensure quality services, staff satisfaction and client outcomes.
  • Manage disability programs, compliant with legislation, standards, contractual requirements and internal policy.
  • Ensure delivery of program services in accordance with program budget, local business plans and in line with client needs and plans.
  • Develop and maintain local operational and administrative systems and procedures to support the effective management of the program.
  • Ensure a consistent standard of quality is delivered for program in accordance with regulations prescribed in relevant legislation and funding agency standards.
  • Manage risks and issues arising in the course of service management.
  • Promote and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Advise and consult with all relevant parties, including the Operations Managers and Regional Directors regarding complex and sensitive matters.
  • Support and promote the work of Life Without Barriers, maintaining a positive image of the organisation in accordance with level of position

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role)

Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar Aged Care or related program.
  • Degree qualification in Human Services or related discipline.
  • A demonstrated commitment to the care and protection of clients.
  • Demonstrated experience in team leadership and management.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal/communication skills, including verbal, written and negotiation.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage services and programs within a budget.
  • Demonstrated ability in time management and organisational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with people from diverse cultural backgrounds with specific reference to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
  • Well-developed problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to use initiative, think laterally and strategically, to meet deadlines and produce quality work under pressure.
