About the role

Based in Unley with the flexibility to work remotely and from the office, oversee and coordinate our Social Work Student Placement Program. We are looking for someone who is proactive and communicates well with all Stakeholders and is passionate about making a difference.

This is a maximum term contract through to 30 June 2021 and is part time 3 days per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a mix of 1:1 and group supervision for students that meet Australian Association of Social Workers’ requirements
  • Conduct initial interview and matching of students
  • Onboard students
  • Attend placement meetings
  • Complete all placement documentation
  • Develop the placement learning plan with the student
  • Provide written program reports and proposals
  • Assist with the development of an Outcomes Framework to demonstrate program milestones
  • Participate in program and practice evaluation activities
  • Collate placement descriptions and identified projects to be completed by students in consultation with managers of the programs
  • Support program development
  • Maintain communication and liaison with students and program academics

Skills & Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work from a recognised tertiary institution
  • Eligible for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers
  • Current SA Driver’s Licence
  • Experience in coordinating a multi-disciplinary team or Program
  • Demonstrated experience as a Social Worker in a human services organisation
  • Demonstrated experience in providing practice supervision and completion of supervision training
  • Demonstrated ability to work with individuals, families and/or groups from a strength-based culturally appropriate perspective
  • Sound project management experience including planning and coordinating the delivery of projects
  • Demonstrated communication, influencing, liaison and negotiation skills
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to meet timeframes
  • Demonstrated knowledge of trends and contemporary practices in Social Work practice.

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).
