About the Role

You will be supporting NDIS psychosocial clients in the community and in Support Independent Living accommodation. You will provide practical assistance by helping individuals achieve their personal goals, develop better relationships with family and friends and manage their everyday tasks. These clients may experience challenging behaviours and engage in high risk behaviours.

Our new team members must be both adaptable and flexible with a gentle, caring nature and have demonstrated experience working with clients with complex needs and challenging behaviours.

We have part-time contracts available and our preference would be someone who is available to flex up to full time hours on a 24/7 roster as the service grows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support consumers to work towards achieving their individual aims
  • Support in day to day living, promoting cooking, housekeeping, hygiene, shopping etc.
  • Support consumers to build their capacity
  • Liaise and collaborate with consumers, their community and community support agencies
  • Monitor and review client’s progress through the service and against the case plan
  • Utilise positive behaviour strategies
  • Maintenance of progress notes and record keeping

Skills & Experience

  • Certificate IV in Mental Health or working towards
  • Experience interacting or working with people who have complex needs including a psycho-social disability
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
  • Current Senior First Aid Certificate
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module certificate
  • Current Driver Licence

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check
