If these match your 2021 career goals read on. We are seeking a House Supervisor in Bundoora. In this leadership position you will be responsible for providing guidance and leadership to staff delivering direct client support to a mixed resident base ages between 34 and 50. The role offers great opportunity to take up a front-line management role, in a great house offering a career pathway to build on your qualifications and further develop leadership, client and house-management skills.

The house profile: this is the home of (3 male and 1 female resident). The group are all ambulant, have very good receptive skills and most have good verbal communication skills. Most residents are independent in terms of personal care and complete personal hygiene, toileting and dressing skills independently. Assistance and support are required with meal planning and preparation, domestic chores and community access. Some have diet and medically managed conditions. They enjoy a range of activities including walks, cafes, restaurants, parks/gardens, shopping, music, arts and crafts, gardening.

This is a full-time ongoing position and the roster line 76/76hrs fortnightly split includes a variation of Day and longer Day Shifts with no sleep-overs or active nights and 2X 3 day weekends off per roster.   

Key Skills & Responsibilities

As the successful leader in the team, we need you to actively demonstrate your capabilities and successes working clients in similar settings. You will have proven experience in working in group homes and have a sound knowledge of relevant legislation as well as excellent skills in communicating effectively with a diverse group of key stakeholders as a leader, mentor and advocate for clients and staff alike. You must be a hands-on team player with a strong client focus, enthusiasm, imagination and positive client support experience. You will have strong leadership capabilities and be able to drive and lead the house team in providing best practice support to clients to enable as full and independent as well as supervision and mentoring of other team members.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Certificate 4 in Disability WITH Significant experience in a similar residential setting in a senior or acting  leadership position
  • Current Employee Working with Children Check (WWCC), Level 2 First Aid Certificate AND Full driver’s licence
  • Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency is essential
