About the Role

Lead and inspire a team with our values always front and centre of your actions. Modelling and practicing therapeutic intervention strategies, roster with a focus on good workforce planning and provide team supervision.

You will be required to work across several residential settings to support your teams and work in collaboration with a wide range of community stakeholders to develop and implement care plans built around each child / young person. Most importantly to ensure that we are creating a safe and culturally appropriate and healing environment for children and young people.

This is a full- time max term role with working days of Monday to Friday. You will participate in an on-call roster.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the development and implementation of the Departmental Case Plan (where applicable) and develop and implement the LWB Case/Care plan that drives day-to-day service delivery.
  • Coordinate the intake, transition, or exit of children and young people in residential care.  
  • Demonstrate strong leadership in mange, support and provide reflective supervision to a team of residential workers.
  • Undertake appropriate rostering of residential workers.
  • Support staff to apply the Therapeutic Crisis Intervention system (TCI).
  • Ensure databases are up to date with all client information.

 Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology or similar.
  • Experience working with children and young people who have experienced trauma and disadvantage.
  • Experience in the co-ordination of 24-hour residential services for vulnerable people.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and leading a team in relevant industry.
  • Demonstrated capacity to manage crises and critical issues and deal with complex and challenging situations.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills including strong interpersonal skills, use of Microsoft Office packages. 
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificates
  • Current Child Safe Environment Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
  • Current Unrestricted Australian Drivers Licence.

This position will be required to undergo probity checks including criminal record checks, working with children check and NDIS Worker Check/DHS Disability Services Employment clearance and Psychological Assessment for employment in a children's residential facility.
