About the Role

As a Home Care Worker in Goulburn and the surrounding regional areas of the Upper Lachlan Shire, you will be providing aged care support to clients transitioning from hospital to their homes.

The successful applicant will have experience in personal care, domestic assistance and social support. Furthermore, the ideal candidate will have the flexibility and commitment to work short, split shifts across a 24/7 roster; this includes weekends and public holidays. Preference will be given to those who have demonstrated exceptional experience working in aged care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake personal care and daily hygiene duties such as bathing, grooming and meal preparation
  • Assist with the administration of approved medications
  • Implement tasks and routines outlined by an approved medical professional
  • Perform domestic duties such a cleaning, washing and care of plants
  • Support clients in attending and participating in appointments and social activities
  • Maintain and monitor a client’s health and behaviour on an ongoing basis
  • Build rapport and collaborate effectively with clients to establish positive relationships
  • Track and document an individual’s progress and contribute to all team meetings 

Skills & Experience

  • Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing), Aged Care or similar
  • A current First Aid Certificate and CPR Certification
  • An unrestricted NSW Driver’s Licence
  • Ownership of a registered vehicle with comprehensive car insurance
  • Current, or willingness to undertake a Food Handlers Certificate
  • The ability to work flexibly around a 24/7 roster, including short split shifts
  • The confidence to maintain service user privacy and confidentiality
  • Demonstrated commitment to supporting and engaging with low and high support clients
  • Proven success managing and resolving minor problems
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships

Please note: Successful candidates will be required to undertake pre-employment checks to ensure the safety of our clients. This includes a National Criminal History Record Check and, Working with Children Check and providing Immunisation Records for Category A employees outlined in NSW Health Policy Directive - Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination Against Specified Infectious Diseases (PD2020_017).
