About the Role

This is a new role, reporting to the Corporate Services & Finance Business Partner.  You will provide specialist financial and commercial support & advice to relevant partners in the business while leading a team to drive strategic agendas to better our business performance.

You will be a key point of contact for enquiries regarding Corporate Services, ensuring consistent advice and a unified direction. 

This is a permanent full time role, location either Central Coast, Newcastle, Sydney or Melbourne.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the team to achieve the business plan outcomes and other organisational programs and initiatives
  • Monitor, coach, support, motivate and develop team members
  • Identify and lead process change strategies, driving efficiency and improvements supporting LWB financial stewardship
  • Advise on the financial implications of management decisions, ensuring decisions and proposed activities are commercially responsible and financially sound
  • Consistently apply LWB financial and accounting principles, procedures and practices.

Skills & Experience

  • Tertiary level qualifications in Finance or Accounting discipline
  • Member of CPA Australia or Institute of Chartered Accountants or equivalent
  • Demonstrated application of strong commercial acumen
  • Demonstrated experience in a financial lead or similar role
  • Demonstrated experience in identifying and leading process change improvements
  • Experience in leading and developing a team
  • Experience in critically evaluate proposals and opportunities and offer commercial judgements.
  • Experience developing and implementing business plans and strategies within a large organisation
  • Working knowledge of relevant legislative and regulatory environment for areas of business responsibility
  • The ability to influence and work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders including peers, employees, external organisations, funding bodies and government agencies to achieve financially responsible outcomes.
  • Strong financial analysis and modelling skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient ability in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of programs

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).
