We are recruiting for Family Contact Workers to join our Wyong team on a casual basis. As a Family Contact Worker you will be responsible for monitoring family visits between children and their families. From time to time you may also be required to provide youth work, transportation or mentoring to children. The shift pattern (4-5 hours per shift) is across 7 days and will including morning shifts, afternoons/evenings and weekends.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and facilitate contact between the child or young person and the family member
• Ensure the safety and well-being of the child or young person and those participating in the visit;
• Establish rapport with children and young people through mentoring or youth work
• Provide transportation up-to 4 hours
• Complete report writing after each contact with a child or young person
• Access rostering and shift information through email and calendar

Skills & Experience

• Tertiary qualifications in relative field or similar, or relevant experience and skills to undertake the position with the desire to complete relevant qualifications.
• Unrestricted and Current Drivers Licence
• Your own fully insured vehicle, child lock system and back seat capacity
• Current Senior First Aid Certificate 
• Confident in using a variety computer systems and outlook
• Previous experience working with children and young people.
• Passion & commitment to improving the quality of life, skills and independence of children and young people
