About the role

We are recruiting for a Family Contact Worker/Mentor to join our Wyong team on a casual basis. As a Family Contact Worker/Mentor, you will be responsible for monitoring Family Time visits between children and young people with their families, including providing any transport that is required. You may also be required to provide transportation and mentoring to children and young People. The shift pattern is across 7 days and will including morning shifts, afternoons/evenings and weekends.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and facilitate Family time between the child or young person and the family members;
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of the child or young person and those participating in the visit;
  • Establish rapport and provided support to children and young people on one to one basis or in small groups through mentoring;
  • Provide transportation to all areas as needed;
  • Complete report writing after each contact with a child or young person;
  • Access rostering and shift information through email.

Skills & Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in relative field or similar, or relevant experience and skills to undertake the position with the desire to complete relevant qualifications.
  • Unrestricted and Current Drivers Licence
  • Your own fully insured vehicle, child lock system and capacity to secure Car seats and Boosters as per Australian Standards
  • Current Senior First Aid Certificate 
  • Confident in using a variety computer systems and outlook
  • Previous experience working with children and young people.
  • Passion & commitment to improving the quality of life, skills and independence of children and young people

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).
