About the Role

Working at our newly opened Supported Independent Living in Queanbeyan, we are looking for Disability Support Workers with previous experience supporting adolescents with disability to join our team on a Part Time or Casual basis.

Successful candidates will have experience working one on one with adolescent clients who display behaviours of concern. It is expected that the successful candidate will be available and willing to work a 24/7 roster that includes regular shift work, including night shifts, weekends and public holidays.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assistance with clients daily living (including personal care)
  • Participation in activities of daily living
  • Assisting Clients with Community access and transport
  • Maintaining and monitoring person-centred plans
  • Following individual support plans and behaviour support plans where required
  • Documentation and progress note keeping

Skills & Experience

  • Certificate III in Disability, Community Welfare or similar
  • Driver's license 
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Previous experience working with and supporting adolescents with disability
  • Previous experience working with clients who display behaviours of concern
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts across a 24/7 roster
  • Ability to maintain service user privacy and confidentiality

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check.
