Life Without Barriers is a leading social purpose, not for profit organisation of 7,000 employees working in more than 440 communities across Australia. We support children, young people and families, people with disability, older people and people with mental illness.
We want to employ people who reflect the diversity of our clients to ensure we can support each client's individual needs and wants. We encourage people of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background and people with a disability to apply.
This is a challenging but rewarding opportunity for you to make a positive change in the lives of people with a disability. We are looking for motivated and dynamic support workers who are able to work on a casual basis, with the flexibility to cover shifts at late notice being an important requirement of the role.
Working as part of a team, you will provide proactive and person-centred support to service users and assist them to work towards their goals, achieve positive outcomes and live their best life. You will actively promote their skills and abilities, respond to their individual needs and implement and monitor their support plan while ensuring a safe environment.
While the base for this position will be in Shailer Park, there are shifts available in our arrangements from the Sunshine to the Gold Coast and across to Ipswich. We will work with you to identify your preferred regions/suburbs, however a willingness to travel is likely to increase the frequency with which you are offered work.
In order to best support our clients, the successful incumbent for this position will be required to do sleepover shifts, work weekends and must be flexible with working arrangements.
Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).
Life Without Barriers supports the Royal Commission into violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation of people with disability. We believe people with disability need to be heard and for these experiences to influence how support services like ours are delivered. View our statement.
