About the Role

As a Part Time Maximum Term Disability Support Worker in Queanbeyan, you will be providing individual support to a non-verbal young client with disability by assisting them to live independently and achieve their goals.

The successful applicant will have experience managing challenging behaviours, following behaviour support plans and be comfortable with personal and menstrual care. The ideal applicant will also be available for a variety of shift work that includes active night shifts and weekends.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow individual support plans, behaviour support plans and health care plans
• Assist the client with personal and menstrual care
• Encourage the client to perform daily living tasks and to participate in community activities
• Maintain and monitor the client’s person-centred plan
• Identify and support a range of learning opportunities for the client
• Track and document the individual’s progress through thorough note keeping 

Skills & Experience

• Certificate III in Disability, Community Welfare or similar
• A valid First Aid Certificate
• A current NSW Driver’s Licence
• The ability to work flexibly around a 24/7 roster, including active night shifts
• The confidence to maintain service user privacy and confidentiality
• Commitment to supporting and promoting the individual growth of clients
• Confident supporting people with disability
• Strong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check.
