About the role

This is a great opportunity for a Disability Support Worker looking for night shifts (22:00-08:00) in our Short Term Accommodation for people with disabilities (including complex and challenging behaviours). Working in a team, you will be actively supporting our clients individual needs and creating a safe environment.

The shifts available are Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (60 hours per fortnight permanent contract).

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Promote and assist Clients to achieve goals identified in Person Centred Plans
  • Utilise positive behaviour strategies
  • Providing support with personal care, living skills, medication and other support as required
  • Maintenance of progress notes and record keeping

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum Certificate III in Individual Support - preferred
  • Experience working with people with challenging behaviour and complex health needs
  • Ability to demonstrate interpersonal skills with Clients, families and stakeholders
  • Demonstrate confidentiality and professional boundaries
  • Competent computer skills to complete online training and administration tasks
  • A current Senior First Aid Certificate (Provide First Aid & CPR)
  • A current unrestricted Driver Licence
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate (online course via NDIS website)
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check (apply via Department of Transport)

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the position)
