About the role

This is a challenging but rewarding opportunity for you to make a positive change in the lives of People with a Disability.

Working in a team, you will facilitate the delivery of quality services and achieve positive outcomes with clients in a positive and proactive environment. You will be actively supporting their individual needs and creating a safe environment. You will be responsible for some personal care, medication administration and to encourage the client to participate with household tasks. You will also be responsible for supporting and promoting their skills and abilities, implementing and monitoring their Individual Support Plan. 

You will be supported with the following;

  • You will be provided with training on the client’s approved restrictive practices and Positive Behaviour Support strategies by an NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner.
  • You will be provided additional training for any health needs of the client by an allied health professional.
  • You will attend regular training on client resolution and intervention strategies for working with clients with challenging behaviours.
  • You will have support from a Program Coordinator during office hours and a staff emergency support line for afterhours emergencies during the hours of 1700 to 0830 and weekends.
  • You will be supported by a team of experienced disability support workers, dedicated to improving our client’s quality of life and engagement in the community.

This role will service suburbs such as but not limited to Noosa to Bracken Ridgen Region. You will be required to travel to all locations.

Please note: In order to best support our clients, the successful incumbent for this position will be required to work some weekends and must be flexible with working arrangements. The successful incumbent will have a reliable vehicle and will be required to support clients with transport.

Key Responsibilities

  • Day to day care (including personal care) and supervision
  • Community Access & Transport
  • Maintain & Monitor Person Centred Plans
  • Documenting & Progress Note keeping

Skills & Experience

  • Unrestricted Australian Drivers Licence - Essential
  • Current Provide First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain) - Essential
  • Certificate III in Individual Support / Aged Care / Community Services or higher
  • Passionate about delivering Person-Centred care

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).
