About the Role

Working as a Disability Support Worker in our Lifestyles Day Program, you will be committed to providing support to people with disability by assisting them to achieve their goals. As a member of our Lifestyles program you will be required to travel directly to clients and assist them in their homes. The shifts can vary from 2 to 10 hours on any given day, 7 days a week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Increase the client’s choice and independence, through capacity building, skill acquisition and supported decision making
  • Assist clients to explore and participate in community-based activities of their choice
  • Establish meaningful relationships with clients, their families, supporters and advocates
  • Report any observed changes or concerns regarding the health, wellbeing and/or behaviour of clients as per Life Without Barriers procedures

Skills & Experience

  • Valid unrestricted Australian drivers’ licence or ability to travel to clients and community locations where required
  • Demonstrated ability to use basic technology and software, including a smart phone,
  • and a computer
  • Valid First Aid Certificate as per NDIS requirements
  • Personal or work experience in using initiative and working both individually and as part of a team

All positions within Life Without Barriers will be required to undergo probity checks including criminal record checks, vulnerable person’s check, and working with children checks (where relevant to the position).
