About the Role

Join our Lifestyle Support team in Broken Hill on a permanent part-time basis where you will actively support our clients to access lifestyle activities and the community.

Shifts will generally be between the hours of 8am and 6pm, however, hours may vary slightly depending on client requirements.

As these roles involve showering, dressing and other personal care tasks we ask that only male applicants apply to maintain the decency and privacy of our male clients.  Life Without Barriers considers gender a genuine occupational qualification for this position under s 31 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW).

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist clients to explore and participate in community-based activities
  • Increase the client’s choice and independence through capacity building, skill acquisition and supported decision making
  • Establish meaningful relationships with clients, their families, and supporters to work towards positive outcomes for clients
  • Supporting clients to manage their health, including mental health
  • Complete documentation and reporting requirements
  • Regularly review client files and resources

Skills & Experience 

  • Certificate III in Disability, Community Services or similar OR willingness to obtain
  • Unrestricted NSW Driver’s Licence
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Sound computer, written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in emotional regulation
  • Ability to adhere to client support plans and complete documentation
  • Commitment to providing quality support, customer choice and inclusion

One of our clients is a SciFi fan so a keen interest in SciFi will be advantageous!
