About the Role

Join our Shared & Supported Living team in Broken Hill on a casual basis and permanent part-time basis. You will actively support our clients to live independently through the provision of daily living support (including personal care), domestic duties, mentorship, assistance with medications and support to achieve their individual goals.

Due to the support needs of our clients, you must be available and willing to work a varied pattern of shifts across a 24/7 roster (including short shifts, night shifts, weekends and public holidays) in order to be considered for these roles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist clients to explore and participate in community-based activities particularly sports, such as swimming and walking
  • Increase the client’s choice and independence through capacity building, skill acquisition and supported decision making
  • Establish meaningful relationships with clients, their families, and supporters to work towards positive outcomes for clients
  • Support clients to manage their health, including mental health
  • Manual handling, including operation of hoists
  • Complete documentation and reporting requirements
  • Regularly review client files and resources

Skills & Experience 

  • Certificate III in Disability, Community Services or similar OR willingness to obtain
  • Unrestricted NSW Driver’s Licence
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Sound computer, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to adhere to client support plans and complete documentation
  • Commitment to providing quality support, customer choice and inclusion
