About the Role

As a casual Disability Support Worker, you will be given the opportunity to empower and support our clients with disability within our Lifestyle & Respite programs. In our growing community at Batemans Bay, we are specifically looking for people who are passionate about a career in disability services and have experience in offering person-centred support.

The strongest applicants will have an in-depth understanding of psychosocial behaviour and mental wellbeing; as well as the ability to engage and attend to a variety of client needs. This opportunity also requires the successful candidate to be flexible for a variety of shifts, including weekends, public holidays and the occasional sleepover shift.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the growth and development of our clients through community participation
  • Identify and support learning opportunities for all clients who access our services
  • Establish rapport and collaborate effectively with clients, their families & key stakeholders
  • Track and document an individual’s progress through thorough note keeping
  • Contribute to a positive team environment through demonstrating peer support

Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrated ability to use a smart phone and a computer where required
  • Valid First Aid Certificate as per NDIS requirements
  • Ability to work both individually and as part of a team
  • Valid unrestricted NSW drivers’ licence or the ability to travel to clients and community locations where required

Successful candidates will be required to clear all state-based probity checks, including a National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check.
