Life Without Barriers is a leading social purpose, not for profit organisation of 7,500 employees working in more than 440 communities across Australia. We support children, young people and families, people with disability, older people and people with mental illness. We work with people who are homeless and refugees and asylum seekers.
We want to employ people who reflect the diversity of our clients to ensure we can support each client's individual needs and wants. We encourage people of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background and people with disability to apply.
LWB delivers a specialist culturally responsive foster care support program throughout Australia. The program is committed to ensuring carers and staff support children in a way that creates conditions for positive change. We use the Children and Residential Experience (CARE) model to guide our work with children and their families, and through training and ongoing support, we equip carers with the skills needed to care for and nurture a foster child.
This is a brand-new role within our Child, Youth and Families program and we are looking for a passionate and adaptable self-starter to join our caring team in Unley on a part time (0.8 FTE) basis until 30 June 2021 initially, with potential to extend.
The role has a strong focus on the functions of carer induction training, and ongoing foster carer learning and development. The position will work closely with local care teams and the corporate Learning & Development team to ensure CARE informed, quality, evidence-based learning and development options are available to carers and the broader care team.
Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the position).
Include your resume and covering letter combined in one document and addressing the key responsibilities, click 'Apply'. We are dedicated to playing our part to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and bring continuity of care and support to our clients. With this in mind, if you are successful, we will discuss with you an alternative to a face to face interview.
