About the Role:

Provide high quality clinical services to clients in our Disability Programs as part of a professional multi-disciplinary team. This role would be based from our Dandenong office and is a permanent position. Ideally you would be registered as a Positive Behavioural Support Planning Practitioner. If you do not have this registration, we may be able to support the facilitation of this accreditation for the right candidate.

It is essential you would have experience in the Disability sector. Candidates currently working as Occupational Therapist or Psychologists would be favoured for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide assessments of clients' in our disability program including their cognitive and learning abilities, living skills, emotional and mental health status and behavioural profile
  • Develop and monitor intervention plans and strategies around challenging behaviours exhibited by people with a disability
  • Opportunity to deliver training to staff, Carers and Clients in group and individual settings on a range of relevant topics

Skills & Experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy or Social Work
  • Experience across Positive behaviour Support Plans would be advantageous
  • Current Registration with the relevant professional body or Psychology board of Australia covering your profession e.g. Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Experience in writing and implementing behaviour support plans
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
  • Understanding of the issues, services and legislation affecting the delivery of services for people with disabilities
  • High-level communication, influencing, liaison and negotiation skills, including the ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Current Driver’s Licence.

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).
