About The Role

We are currently looking to recruit an Advanced Disability Support Worker for one of our residential houses in Bundoora. This is a great opportunity to enter a front-line management role, offering a career pathway to build upon your qualifications and further your leadership and client management skills. The role is responsible for 2IC support to the House Supervisor providing mentoring and guidance to staff and direct client support to a small, complex behaviours – 4 male resident group.  The people living here are gentleman in their late thirties to early fifties, they enjoy a range of activities and all are active men who enjoy socialising and catching up with their families. There are minimal personal support needs

This is a full-time ongoing position and the roster line is days/evenings with no sleepover or active nights requirements with 2 weekends off per month.  

Key Responsibilities

As the successful new addition to the team, we need you to actively demonstrate previous successes working clients with behaviours of concern. You will have proven experience in working in group homes and have a sound knowledge of relevant legislation as well as excellent skills in communicating effectively with a diverse group of key stakeholders as a leader, mentor and advocate for clients and staff alike. You must be a hands-on team player with positive behaviour support experience and leadership capabilities able to support the House Supervisor as a 2IC promote and provide best practice support to clients as well as supervision and mentoring of other team members.

Essential Qualifications:

• Advanced Diploma in Community Sector Management or equivalent Disability related qualification - candidates currently studying for this qualification may be considered depending upon experience.
• Current Employee Working with Children Check (WWCC)
• Level 2 First Aid Certificate
• Full driver’s licence
• Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency is an essential pre-requisite
