About the role

The Team Leader – Disability demonstrates organisational and leadership skills in the coordination of services to assist people with a disability. The position is focused upon ensuring that the individual needs of clients are met, whilst maintaining an efficient and safe working environment for staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordination and management of the daily operations of the disability programs
  • Coordinate and/or oversee rostering and timesheet requirements according to individual support needs of clients and service funding
  • Manage and ensure quality service provision across disability programs including the development of new programs
  • Model appropriate conflict resolution, communication and positive behaviour management skills
  • Plan and facilitate regular and effective team meetings and professional development opportunities

Skills & Experience

  • Diploma in relevant Social & Community Services qualification
  • Current Drivers Licence
  • First Aid Certificate (to be determined on a case by case basis)
  • Demonstrated experience of working in a leadership/management role in a human services organisation
  • Demonstrated experience in the delivery of services to people with a disability, providing a professional and positive outlook and commitment to supporting and promoting the individual needs, skills, abilities and personal goals of people with disabilities
  • Strong written and computer skills for the creation of plans, programs, reports, correspondence and other documents

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).
