We are seeking a passionate, energetic and caring Youth Service Coordinator who enjoys what they do - improving the lives of others.

In Hobart we are fortunate to assist a young customer in our Out of Home Care Accommodation services. This young person is semi independent with a mild intellectual impairment and absconding behaviours. We are a seeking Youth Service Coordinator who are resilient and have a sound understanding of the importance of supporting children and young people in line with our commitment to the Child Protection Act 1999.

As a Youth Service Coordinator your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating support plan meetings for each customer in partnership with external stakeholders
  • Providing a consistency within the service for young people and other team members
  • Engage in our systems; supporting team members to identify training needs and work with them to implement training plans
  • Facilitating both family group education support plan meetings
  • Guiding and supporting the young people to develop independent living skills and supporting the team in helping the young people to engage with their local communities and culture through access to Community Participation Programs and recreational activities
  • Monitoring budgets for the service and keeping accurate and up to date Workplace Health & Safety records and reporting protocols
  • Maintaining a network within the community to benefit of the young people
  • Transition planning; coordinating with external agencies

Make It Matter - What you will bring to make a difference in other's lives

  • Strong communication, leadership and organisational skills
  • Hold or be enrolled in and working towards obtaining a recognised qualification in Youth or Community Services (Cert IV, Diploma, Degree).
  • Be willing to be available to work full time, 38 hours per week
  • Previous experience supporting young people with a range behavioural concerns
  • Current drivers licence (mandatory requirement)
  • Current First Aid certificate (HLTAID003)
  • Hold or we willing to obtain, Assist Clients with Medication and Recognise Healthy Body Systems
