About the role

Our team in Broken Hill is growing!

Are you truly passionate about supporting people? Do you want to make a real and tangible difference to someone's life? As a Support Worker in our organisation, you'll be doing just that. It's a challenging role and you'll need to be resilient but the reward for your hard work will come with the knowledge that you have made a positive difference in the lives of others.

As part of this role some of your responsibilities may include, assisting our clients to develop key lifestyle skills such as cooking, craft, social interaction, engaging with their local community and assist, guide and support the children and young people in out Out of Home Care program to develop independent living skills while ensuring daily care needs are being met.

You will be responsible for assisting individuals work towards their goals, assist with activities and routines, the provision of personal hygiene along with the administration and management of medication. Above all, you are someone who respects professional boundaries and holds the safety and well-being of our clients paramount.

What you will bring to the role;

  • Previous experience supporting people with a disability, children and young people who have a variety of needs
  • Relevant qualifications in Community Services, Youth, Disability Services or equivalent experience
  • Current Drivers Licence
  • Experience in adult/children challenging behaviours is advantageous
  • Be willing to undergo a National Police Check
  • Current “Provide First Aid” Certificate (or be willing to obtain)
  • Current Working With Children Check
