Lifestart is an Early Childhood Partner, delivering the National Disability Insurance Agency’s Early Childhood Early Intervention (ECEI) approach across the greater Sydney region and including Nepean Blue Mountains, Illawarra Shoalhaven and Central Coast.

About the Role

Lifestart is seeking experienced Early Childhood Teachers and Allied Health Professionals to join our ECEI team.

ECEI Coordinators engage with children aged 0-6 years with additional needs, disability or development delay and work alongside families entering the NDIS ECEI approach.

As the main contact for families (Key Worker), you will benefit from the trans-disciplinary focus of our diverse team.

With access to the latest technology, you are able to work flexibly to support clients in their homes, early childhood, school and community settings. You will also provide parents/carers with the knowledge, skills and supports to optimise their child’s development and ability to participate inclusively within the wider community.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Supporting families to develop goals for the child that reflect family priorities.
  • Supporting families to access main stream community support 

  • Implementing short-term therapy and early intervention strategies, to assist the child’s development

  • Providing information to families so they can develop an understanding of access to the NDIS, including the planning process, to support their ability to make informed decisions

  • Developing NDIS funded plans, preparing reports and documentation in accordance with the NDIA requirements

  • Build and maintain effective relationships with external service providers to ensure the effective delivery of required services and to monitor progress to agreed outcomes

  • Participating in community capacity building and supporting mainstream services to become accessible to those with disability

  • Working within a multi-disciplinary team and sharing your expertise and collaborating with other allied health professionals

Location

Lifestart provides the ECEI approach across a wide service area including throughout Sydney, Nepean Blue Mountains, the Central Coast and Illawarra Shoalhaven regions.

It is expected that you can work flexibly across these regions including Work From Home, at one of our offices and within client home, early childhood, school and community environments.

you will have

Essential

  • Degree qualified as an Early Years/ Childhood Teacher, Speech Pathologist, Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist
  • Current professional registration as required (eg SPA or AHPRA)
  • Experience providing early intervention supports
  • Demonstrated knowledge of inclusion and using person and family centred approaches
  • Strong communication skills, and acts with discretion and confidentiality
  • Background, NDIS Worker Check and Working with Children Clearance (or willingness to obtain)
  • Hold a current Drivers Licence and access to a registered vehicle to perform the role

Preferred

  • Specialist knowledge of disability
  • Experience developing and reviewing intervention plans
