The Senior Policy Officer will be responsible to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for key policy development, manage projects that support the members, coordinate and manage two Reference Groups, and support Association meetings and contribute to the Association’s strategic plan activities.
The role will require a close working relationship with LGANT members, Northern Territory Government departments and other key stakeholders.
The successful candidate will need to be exceedingly well organised with attention to detail, be flexible, with strong writing, negotiation and interpersonal skills. They will enjoy the challenges of being part of a small inclusive office environment and working on and with a diverse range of programs and people.
The Local Government Association of the Northern Territory (LGANT) is the peak body representing 17 local government authorities in the Northern Territory. It is a small team of professional practitioners and is a member of the Australian Local Government Association which represents local government interests nationally.
