The Community Outreach Nurse- schools sits within the newly formed Paediatric and Youth Hub at LCHS, where all paediatric services work together within the social model of health to ensure the best possible outcomes for children in Inner Gippsland. Program growth has led to new schools joining the nurse in schools program and we are seeking highly motivated nurses with a passion for paediatrics and / or community health to join our team and make a difference in the lives of local children. The successful applicants will work across schools in the Latrobe Valley.
The key aims of the Community Nurse in schools initiative is to work with children, parents and teachers to improve the health of children attending school and ensuring that they have every opportunity to learn and thrive in their community.
This role will suit a nurse who is looking to engage the school community; children, families and staff.
There is potential for these positions to be offered on a contract covering school terms only for the right applicant.
