Brief Work Overview

Lieschke & Weatherill Lawyers seeks applicants to join our admin team for general administrative support / legal secretary work. Some of the work offered focuses on providing general administrative support/legal secretarial support to our lawyers which may include assisting our front of house staff team which focuses on scheduling meetings, liaising with clients and others, electronic and hard copy file management (including data entry), document production, ad hoc assistance to lawyers and other administrative staff and a range of other general administrative tasks. Some of the legal secretarial work includes drafting correspondence to various recipients, drafting basic court documents, arranging and managing appointments and preparing accounts and invoices.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Polite & Professional phone manner
  • Ability to effectively manage competing priorities
  • Capacity to maintain client confidentiality
  • Strong communication skills, particularly in obtaining information from clients and others
  • Ability to work well autonomously in a busy team and use initiative

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Experience with LEAP legal software
  • Prior experience in or around the Union Movement and / or legal workplaces
  • Comprehension of legal and medico-legal jargon
