The Centre

KU operates brokered programs on behalf of the Commonwealth Government and provides professional services to the early childhood sector and the wider community, one of which is the Family Programs.

KU Starting Points Macarthur, an approved NDIS service provider located in Airds, provides early intervention and support to families who have young children (0–8 years) with disabilities or developmental delays in the Macarthur area.

We help children communicate, learn, move and play, support meaningful participation in children’s school, early childhood centre and community settings, and assist during transition times in children's and their family’s life, such as into educational and community settings.

The Role

We are seeking a Senior Paediatric Occupational Therapist to join our team based in Airds in to provide support and expertise for families of children from birth with developmental disability or delay.

The ideal applicant has experience providing clinical supervision for other Occupational Therapists and is able to work in a transdisciplinary team.

Knowledge of NDIS and experience working with children with a disability or developmental delay undertaking assessments, sensory profiles and therapy is also highly regarded.

On offer is a full-time permanent position working Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day and accruing one monthly Rostered Day Off (RDO).

To be considered for this role the following are essential:

  • Degree in Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) or its equivalent
  • Registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia
  • AHPRA registration
  • Driver licence as this position would require some travel between services in the South West Region of Sydney
  • A current NSW Working with Children Check
  • Knowledge of child protection legislation and its implications for the care and protection of children
  • Demonstrated computer literacy
  • Demonstrated professional level of written and verbal communication skills
