The Centres

KU operates brokered programs on behalf of the Commonwealth Government and provides professional services to the early childhood sector and the wider community, one of which is the Family Programs.

KU Starting Points Macarthur, an approved NDIS service provider located in Airds and Cobbitty, provides early intervention and support to families who have young children (0–8 years) with disabilities or developmental delays in the Macarthur area.

KU Starting Points Penrith, an approved NDIS service provider, provides early intervention and support to families who have young children (0–8 years) with disabilities or developmental delays in the Pennrith area.

We help children communicate, learn, move and play, support meaningful participation in children’s school, early childhood centre and community settings, and assist during transition times in children's and their family’s life, such as into educational and community settings.

KU Marcia Burgess Autism Specific Early Learning and Care Centre (ASELCC) is located in Liverpool. The centre has adopted the Early Start Denver Model (ESDM) to provide intervention within the early learning program for children aged 0-6 years old with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a long day care setting. It also provides parents with support in the care of their children and gives them the opportunity to participate more fully in the community.

The Roles

As members of the Education Support and Family Services team you will be working with a dedicated and skilled team of educators and allied health professionals providing support to children and families.

We are seeking Paediatric Occupational Therapists to join our teams in providing support and expertise for families of children from birth with developmental disability or developmental delay.

The ideal applicants are able to work in a transdisciplinary team and have knowledge of the NDIS.

On offer are permanent full-time positions working Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day and accruing one monthly Rostered Day Off (RDO) and permanent part time positions working 8 hours per day, 3 days per week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday; days flexible).

To be considered for this role the following are essential:

  • Degree in Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) or its equivalent
  • Registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia
  • AHPRA registration
  • A current NSW Working with Children Check
  • Driver licence and your own vehicle
  • Knowledge of child protection legislation and its implications for the care and protection of children
  • Demonstrated professional level of written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated computer literacy
