The Centre

KU Phillip Park Children's Centre, located in Sydney's CBD is a short stroll from Museum Train Station and greatly value the strong relationships between staff, children and families.

Operating Monday to Friday between 7:30am and 6pm for children aged from 6 week to 6 years old.

A large focus at the service is on building a community of inquiry and investigation and this is incorporated into our programs in partnership with our community through regular walks, outings and excursions to local sites of significance, such as The Australian Museum, Botanical Gardens, Art Gallery, visits to Cook and Phillip Park and neighbourhood walks to local businesses and restaurants.

KU Phillip Park has been independently assessed by the Department of Education NSW under the National Quality Standards, and are proud to be rated as Exceeding the National Quality Standard.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced teaching Director with a proven leadership experience with the early childhood field who values commitment to community engagement.

On offer is a Permanent Full Time position working 40 hours per week (8 hours Monday to Friday) accruing a monthly Rostered Day Off (RDO), starting December 2020. Additional benefits including discounted health insurance, not for profit salary packaging, and additional paid leave.

What we're looking for?

We want a passionate leader who is committed to achieving positive outcomes for children.

The ideal applicant possesses experience in running a large long day care centre with a large dynamic team. You will also have knowledge of CoS and relationship based philosophies

In addition you will have:

  • A completed Early Childhood Teaching degree or ACECQA approved equivalent qualification
  • A current Working with Children Check
  • Unlimited work rights to enable you to work in Australia
  • Teacher Accreditation through NESA
  • Completed current training in Child Protection legislation and its implications for the care and protection of children
  • A current First Aid certificate with separate Asthma and Anaphylaxis Management training
  • Demonstrated solid understanding of: National Quality Framework (NQF), Early Years learning Framework (EYLF) and Workplace Health & Safety legislation and issues
  • A working knowledge of sustainability education in Early Childhood
  • Solid computer literacy skills as you would be required to work with financial systems
  • Highly developed time management and organisational skills
  • High level of written and oral communication skills
