About knowmore Legal Service

knowmore is a nation-wide, free and independent mainstream Community Legal Centre providing legal information, advice, representation and referrals, education and systemic advocacy for victims and survivors of child abuse. knowmore uses a multidisciplinary model bringing together intake officers, lawyers, social workers and counsellors, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander engagement advisors and financial counsellors to provide trauma-informed, client-centred, and culturally safe legal assistance.

Aunty Glendra Stubbs is a Wiradjuri woman and an Aboriginal Engagement Advisor at knowmore. About the role

As a member of the Strategic Engagement team this national role will utilise community development and project management skills to coordinate knowmore’s outreach and education efforts. This work will include strengthening strategy, innovating new methods to conduct outreach, identifying new opportunities and partners, maintaining a clean, robust and up to date database, developing and managing a calendar of events, tracking activities, analysing and evaluating statistics, and developing reports on outreach and education efforts. This role will also involve the delivery of some education sessions and content.

 Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Work with the Director, Strategic Engagement to develop and maintain a policy and framework to inform and direct knowmore's outreach activities 
  • Work with a range of knowmore staff including members of the legal, support, financial counselling, engagement and communication teams to plan and organise outreach and education activities 
  • Ensure that relevant travel and expenditure approvals are in place for planned activities 
  • Assist in the creation of outreach materials such as flyers, posters and press releases 
  • Contribute content regarding outreach and education for use in knowmore's internal and external communications 
  • Maintain a calendar of outreach activities, including community events, workshops, conferences and other communication opportunities 
  • Establish and maintain a database of external contacts relevant to knowmore's education and outreach activities 
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with collaborative partners 
  • Assist in the organisation of special events including client, community and stakeholder events 
  • Prepare and maintain reports regarding outreach and education activities

Selection Criteria

  • Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with diverse groups including colleagues, clients and community partners
  • Demonstrated experience in project management, preferably with an outreach, campaign, community education or advocacy focus
  • Experience developing and facilitating education sessions through workshops, meetings, and/or presentations and talks
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to produce high quality written and verbal reports
  • Experience using Salesforce Campaigns or a similar customer relationship management system

Qualifications and other requirements

A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline.

The role will involve regular interstate and intrastate travel. Ability to travel is essential and a current driver’s licence is desirable. 

The successful candidate will be required to satisfactorily complete a National Police Records Check and a Working with Children Check. 

Location & Hours

  • The role could be based in Adelaide, Brisbane, Darwin, Melbourne, Perth or Sydney
  • Full-time hours 
  • Ongoing Contract - subject to funding of the knowmore service
