ABOUT THE KLC:

The Kimberley Land Council Aboriginal Corporation (KLC) is an association of Aboriginal people in the Kimberley region. It is a peak regional community organisation.

The KLC was established in 1978 by Aboriginal people to work for the protection of traditional land and waters and is charged with the responsibility to protect, enhance and gain formal status (legal, social and political) for the customs, laws and traditions of Kimberley Traditional Owners.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Region Manager plays a leadership role in the delivery of regionally based native title services to Traditional Owners throughout the Kimberley but particularly in relation to the East Kimberley region. This position works in partnership with Kimberley Traditional Owner groups to deliver operations predominantly with KLC Native Title Services Unit staff and Legal staff.

Working in a team, provide leadership in the coordination of project activities to advance Native Title Determination applications and related activities in the East Kimberley region. Under direction of the Native Title Services Unit Manager, and in partnership with the PLO, provide high level support and work collaboratively with the Senior Project Officers, Legal Officers and Anthropologists in overseeing staff, resources, budgets and timelines and the preparation of regular progress reports.

SALARY AND BENEFITS:

An initial 2-year contract at a KLC Executive Level 1.0 (base salary $103 889.74). Superannuation of 10% and additional salary allowances offered include district allowance, rental assistance where applicable, relocation allowance, salary sacrificing options and 5 weeks annual leave.
