Your new role

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Advanced Community Integration Coordinator to help connect young parents (aged 14-24) with their local communities.

You are someone who can:

  • foster positive relationships with everyone you meet, especially young and disadvantaged people
  • deliver engaging and multi-faceted programs, consistently meeting targets of the program

Finding that we're describing you right now? Keep reading!

In addition to providing professional mentoring support to young people, you will recruit, train and supervise volunteers to support and facilitate a young person's connection to their chosen activity that is regular and frequent. It is anticipated that the connections formed between the young people, mentor and people associated with the chosen activity will help the young person to establish connections and relationships beyond the school setting and the service system.

The role has an interface with the social services system, via Child Protection, case managers, and the Kurnai Young Parents Program where the program is situated.

Some out of hours (evenings) work will be required to support young people and volunteers.

About you

In addition to the above, you have:

  • Relevant qualifications in Youth Work, Social Work, Community Services and extensive experience in the field;
  • Further study or extensive experience in family work approaches will be an advantage.
  • Current Working with Children card.
  • Level 2 First Aid Certificate.
  • Experience in using SHIP/SRS would be highly regarded.

Why join us?

  • Be part of an organisation that truly lives its values
  • Kids First understands the importance of flexible working and has a policy to support this
  • Be nurtured in your career, including professional development in specialist evidence-based models, such as Promoting First Relationships (PFR)
  • Enjoy ‘not for profit' benefits such as salary packaging to increase your take-home pay
  • We know how important it is to spend time with family which is why you get 3 additional leave days at Christmas
  • Purchased leave and portable long service leave options
