A little about the role

Key Assets is excited to be expanding our national presence and establishing services in the ACT!

From 1 January 2025, we’ll be integrating and developing a range of services, including foster care, kinship care, family preservation and after care.

We are seeking applications for a Cultural Practice Lead (CPL) to join our team and play a vital role in growing our services across the ACT. This is a unique opportunity to promote the wellbeing of vulnerable Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people by culturally supporting and building the capacity of those adults responsible for their care.

As a CPL with KAA, you will:

  • Work alongside the ACT leadership team and as a member of the KAA Cultural Collective, lead KAA ACT’s cultural responsiveness, cultural capacity, and the provision of cultural safety for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people accessing Key Assets ACT services
  • Ensure all work aligns with the needs, aspirations and perspective of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities while uploading anti-discrimination principle to ensure all services are culturally safe and inclusive.
  • Facilitate engagement activities, including meetings, and workshops with word Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples communities and other stakeholders, ensuring cultural safety is upheld to support the successful development and implementation of projects and polices.

About you

You’ll come with :

  • Experience providing culturally safe services for Aboriginal children and families within child protection family support and community service in the ACT.
  • Proven ability to guide and develop teams in risk assessment and client-centred, culturally respectful and safe practice within foster care and family support services
  • Experience in engaging and collaborating with Aboriginal services, community leaders and government bodies.
  • Understand the importance of Self-Determination for Aboriginal and Torres Strait peoples
  • A solid understanding of the core elements of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Child Placement Principles.

The salary for this position will be pro-rata based on $108,575 - $113,488/annum full-time equivalent, inclusive of super. This is a part-time, ongoing role based in Canberra.
