Principal Solicitor - Broome

Kimberley Community Legal Services

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants strongly encouraged!

Kimberley Community Legal Services (KCLS) is one of Australia's leading remote civil law services, with 18 staff working from our offices in Broome and Kununurra, delivering legal and family support services across six towns and a dozen remote Aboriginal communities.

KCLS is committed to helping our clients achieve justice, in their individual issues and by improving the legal and systemic context in which our client communities exist. We operate a holistic, client-centred reflective practice, blending legal and social work methodologies to provide the best help we possibly can to those who need it. Leadership of our legal practice is shared between our two Principal Solicitors, located in Broome and Kununurra.

We are seeking a Principal Solicitor to lead our Broome-based West Kimberley practice. In this role, you will lead a small, dedicated team to deliver a full range of civil and family law services to our largely Aboriginal client base. You will also work closely as part of our Leadership Team to shape the organisation as a whole and help drive our mission of ensuring access to justice for all Kimberley people.

This is a full-time, permanent position, based at KCLS' office in Broome.

The position description for this role is attached. KCLS will offer a remuneration package competitive with comparable roles in the sector, including 5 weeks annual leave and full PBI/charitable salary packaging.
