Kimberley Community Legal Services (KCLS) is one of Australia's leading remote civil law services, with 18 staff working from our offices in Broome and Kununurra, and delivering legal and family support services across six towns and a dozen remote Aboriginal communities. We operate a holistic, client-centred reflective practice, blending legal, social work and financial counselling services to provide the best help we possibly can to those who need it.
We are seeking a financial counsellor to join our Kununurra-based East Kimberley financial counselling practice. You will join our current two counsellors to deliver outstanding client-centred advice and support, as well as community-focused education and resource development. You will work closely with our lawyers and social workers to ensure clients with complex needs and contexts are fully supported.
In the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, we are anticipating a substantial increase in demand for financial counselling work, and are looking to build our team accordingly. We also see significant opportunities to improve community education about financial matters, and to deepen the community of practice among Kimberley-based financial counsellors.
This is a full-time position based at KCLS' office in Kununurra, with periodic outreach trips to other towns and remote communities.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants strongly encouraged!
Salary package: KCLS will offer a competitive salary package, comparable to similar roles in the public sector and other NGOs, depending on experience. Attractive salary sacrifice arrangements and remote tax benefits available. Generous leave provisions, including five weeks annual leave.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants are strongly encouraged.
Questions: Please contact Chuck Berger, KCLS Manager, on 0417 447 599.
