We are seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced staff to fulfil Support Worker roles as part of our casual pool. Karralika Therapeutic Community works with participants to address their alcohol and other drug dependence. We are seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced workers who have a general empathy for those whose lives have been affected by alcohol and other drug use. Karralika Programs offers above award wages and salary packaging including PBI fringe benefits-free threshold. All Karralika Programs Inc. sites/workplaces are smokefree. Individuals with a personal history of substance use are eligible to apply but must have been a graduate of a program and separated from services for more than 2 years. A Working With Vulnerable People’s Card is required.
*Please note: Casual pool positions are required to back-fill across day, evening and weekend shifts on an as needs basis.
As a Karralika Programs worker you will have solid experience and confidence in working with vulnerable people including those recovering from problematic alcohol and other drug use. You will support the staff team and residents, participate in program activities, maintain client records and assist with general office and driving duties, and will be required to undertake shifts unsupervised.
Knowledge of and experience in support work with clients with AOD and related complex issues. Residents in the therapeutic community environment do not require personal care work.
We also welcome applications from individuals with broader expertise in supporting clients with complex needs including dual diagnosis and/or health, mental health or other relevant/related qualifications or experience. Experience in working within residential services settings and knowledge of the therapeutic community model is an advantage but not essential.
