About Shared and Respite Living

genU provides supported Shared and Respite Living. We support people to be empowered and enabled to participate in everyday activities and encouraged to develop and maintain skills associated with daily living. We support people using Person Centred practice, including Person Centred Active Support.

About the Role

As a Practice Leader Coach you will provide Shared and Respite Living support staff with practice leadership around person centred active support and includes coaching, modelling of active support/best practice, and training. You will also:

  • Promote positive behaviour support, and independence strategies in line with genU’s vision and strategic objectives, and the NDIA Quality and Safeguarding framework;
  • Promote a learning culture by delivering in-house training and supporting students;
  • Inspire and motivate support staff and leaders to focus and refine their work practice.

We have 2 0.6 FTE positions available. One position will be located on the Mornington Peninsula, and the other in Northern Metropolitan Melbourne.

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A tertiary qualification in disability, human services or related field;
  • A training qualification- such as TAE;
  • Extensive industry experience in the disability sector;
  • Experience delivering training programs designed to support a changing workforce;
  • High level communication skills and ability to write for, and relate to, a range of different audiences;
  • Drivers license as travel will be required;
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check.
