Kara Family Violence Service is a specialist family violence service that provides crisis accommodation, transitional housing and outreach support to women and children experiencing family violence. We have a vacancy for a specialist family violence practitioner to fill a 12 month maternity leave position. Family violence experience preferred.

The successful applicant will provide holistic and strengths-based case management support to women and children experiencing family violence, including risk assessment and safety planning from our new core and cluster site. The role involves outreach and transitional housing support.

  • Location: City of Monash
  • Reports to: Team Leader, Manager
  • Award: SCHADS, level dependent on relevant experience
  • Plus: superannuation and salary packaging
  • Hours: part time 68.4 hours per fortnight, with a rostered day off
  • Duration: 12-month Maternity Leave contract with the possibility of extension.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS

  • A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, or bachelor level equivalent is essential, in line with the requirements of Rec 209.
  • Working with Children Check
  • National Police Check (international police check if required)
  • Eligibility to work in Australia
  • Current unrestricted Victorian driver’s license with good driving record
