Your role:

Karabena Consulting is seeking expressions of interest from individuals with a background of stakeholder engagement and report writing. Previous experience within the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health sector will be highly regarded, as will a history of working within the research and/or consulting industries.

You will utilise your strong writing and research skills, and critical thinking to contribute to research and evaluation projects that aim to improve societal and environmental outcomes across Australia.

What will you be doing?

  • Supporting Karabena Consulting and Karabena Publishing to manage the delivery of high-quality research and evaluation projects and associated outputs.
  • Conducting collaborative project design and proposal development.
  • Undertaking quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis, including interviews, surveys, focus groups, literature reviews and facilitating community-driven research.
  • Writing and presentation of reports, including extracting recommendations from consultation outcomes.
  • Supporting research communication and knowledge translation activities.
  • Proactively contribute to Karabena Group strategy and projects and look for and assist with any growth opportunities.

What we need from you

  • A relevant tertiary qualification (health sciences, social sciences, environmental sciences), or a combination of relevant professional experience and education/training.
  • The ability to work individually and cooperatively within a team and with external partners.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and Microsoft and Google suites.
  • Previous experience in producing research-related outputs, including extracting recommendations from consultation outcomes.
  • Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities is highly desirable.

What this means for you

  • Salary based on experience and qualifications between $75,000-$92,000 + superannuation
  • 1-year full-time contract
  • Paid leave between Christmas and New Year
  • Optional flexible working arrangements and WFH

Key selection criteria:

  • Demonstrated experience in leading the writing of high-quality project proposals and reports.
  • Demonstrated experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse people and communities in a culturally safe way.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering complex projects to strict deadlines.
