The Junction Works is a not for profit organisation that’s been serving South West Sydney since 1987. With our mission of ‘creating new possibilities in people’s lives’, we provide dynamic disability, community, youth and children’s services that are designed to improve the lives of vulnerable people.

The Works Practice is a division of The Junction Works. We provide allied health and NDIS support coordination for children, young people and adults with a disability. We are passionate about providing high quality therapeutic support and improved outcomes for our clients and their families.

The Role

With continued growth in The Works Practice, The Junction Works is seeking a dedicated Psychologist to join our highly skilled allied health team. You will provide innovative, person centred service to enable individuals with a disability to develop skills that improve their wellbeing, quality of life and social connectivity.

Key duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Providing psychological and behaviour support services to school aged children, young people and adults with a disability
  • Designing and implementing a program of intervention that support the individual to meet their goals
  • Collaborate with other clinical disciplines in the development and delivery of therapeutic interventions
  • Assist in the fostering of an environment that is supportive of clients and staff

Our ideal candidate will have

  • Recognised Degree in Psychology with full or Provisional registration as a Psychologist in NSW with APHRA
  • Demonstrated experience working with people with a disability with complex needs, including dual diagnosis, incorporating specialised and complex intervention strategies
  • Experience working collaboratively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team and in partnership with other services
  • Current understanding of the issues, trends and approaches underpinning the provision of services to people with a disability and their families and carers
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, procedures and standards impacting on the delivery of services to people with a disability, including the Disability Inclusion Act 2014
  • Well-developed conceptual, problem solving and analytical skills including the ability to collect, interpret and utilise clinical data; and
  • Demonstrated high level communication and negotiation skills.

  • $6,000 car allowance per annum
  • Salary packaging up to $15,899 per annum. (Salary packing allows part of your wages to be paid as a reimbursement of your personal expenses and no income tax is payable on this money. In effect, part of your wage is paid tax free each pay day.)
