The Role:

The Junction Works is offering an exciting opportunity to join us in the newly created role of Nursing Educator. We are looking for someone with the experience and passion to educate our people across a wide range of medical areas. This full time role will see you working across the organisation to educate and coach our teams to improve the knowledge and skills, elevating our daily practice to maintain only the highest standards of care and support.

Some of your key areas of involvement will include (but will not be limited to):

  • The provision of a training, coaching and assessment activities for frontline staff across all TJW services. Areas of focus may include (but not limited to):
    • Administration of medication
    • Peg feeding
    • Diabetes awareness
    • Asthma & Anaphylaxis
    • Epilepsy Awareness & Medication Management
    • Bowel / Stoma Care
  • Develop detailed training plans and resources for the evolving needs of staff across all services areas
  • Actively participate in the development and implementation of Policies, Procedures and Practices that fully aligns The Junction Works with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission’s Code of Conduct, Practice Standards and the Zero Tolerance approach to disability services
  • The provision of professional advice to Managers, Quality People & Culture and the Executive teams
  • Make decisions through consultation with others that enhances the experience and skills of any person providing support to participants

Our Ideal Candidate Possesses:

To be successful in this role you will be a driven and energetic professional with strong verbal and written communication skills. You will be a motivated and passionate professional, who thrives in a challenging and constantly changing environment.

You will ideally have:

  • Degree in Nursing or equivalent field
  • Maintain relevant registration with APHRA
  • Significant nursing experience, obtained from a frontline role (ideally within the last 2 years)
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment as well as demonstrated experience in creating, implementing and evaluating a range of training packages and assessment processes
  • Experience and confidence in coaching staff at all levels across all areas of responsibility
  • Exposure to the disability sector
  • Current Driver’s Licence and access to own comprehensively insured vehicle
  • Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain prior to employment)
  • Current Working with Children’s Check (or willingness to obtain prior to employment)
