The Opportunity:

Are you passionate about delivering high-quality services that help people to thrive? Do you want to work with a team that is highly driven to deliver quality homelessness support services in the Fleurieu region?

As an Outreach Support Worker, you will be responsible to provide culturally appropriate case management support to the children, adolescents and families that present with varying levels of complex needs from a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach. You will manage your own caseload and liaise with a wide range of agencies, groups and individuals to provide high-quality, mobile, flexible and client-focused homelessness support services across the Southern Fleurieu region.

The role requires sound communication skills, providing assistance, advocacy and information to the people we work with and wherever possible, empowering them to maintain their tenancies. About You:

  • Certificate IV Community Services or equivalent and substantial experience in the field – essential
  • Demonstrated experience in developing case plans within an established case management model
  • An understanding of crisis intervention and crisis management strategies and techniques
  • Knowledge and understanding of the social issues relevant to homelessness - including the determinants and effects of homelessness
  • Have an understanding of the complex needs of children, adolescents and families at risk of homelessness together with the impact/effect of other issues such as domestic violence, mental health, etc.

You Will Need To:

  • Complete our online application process

  • Hold a current First Aid Certificate
  • Hold a current Safe Environments Certificate
  • Undergo pre-employment testing as part of the recruitment process
  • Hold a current unencumbered Australian driver’s license and be willing to drive
