The Opportunity: 

The Outreach Support Worker - Fleurieu is responsible for the provision of supports and interventions that are effective in improving outcomes for those who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. You will manage your own caseload and liaise with a wide range of agencies, groups and individuals to provide high-quality, mobile, flexible and client-focused homelessness support services across the Southern Fleurieu region.

Your sound communication skills will be highly valued in providing assistance, advocacy and information to the individuals we support and wherever possible, empower them to maintain their tenancies. You will be reliable, proactive and professional with demonstrated experience in case management of children, adolescents and families presenting with varied and complex needs. 

You will be a valued part of our close-knit team which is highly regarded for delivering quality homelessness support services in the Fleurieu region.

About You:

  • Certificate IV Community Services or equivalent and substantial experience in the field – essential
  • Demonstrated ability to develop case plans within an established case management model - essential
  • Demonstrated understanding of crisis intervention and crisis management strategies and techniques
  • Knowledge and understanding of the social issues relevant to homelessness - including the determinants and effects of homelessness
  • Understanding of the complex needs of children, adolescents and families at risk of homelessness together with the impact/effect of other issues such as domestic violence, mental health, etc.

You Will Need To:

  • Complete our online application process
  • Hold a current Working with Children Check
  • Hold a current First Aid Certificate 
  • Hold a current Safe Environments Certificate 
  • Undergo pre-employment testing as part of the recruitment process
  • Hold a current unencumbered Australian driver’s license and be willing to drive
