THE OPPORTUNITY:

This is a great opportunity to demonstrate your leadership skills and supervise the day-to-day operations of one of the houses and their staff to provide individualised support to children and young people in care.

Working Monday to Friday, day and evening shifts, you will work closely with the Team Leader to provide a safe, homelike environment as well as working closely with staff and other internal and external stakeholders to promote positive attitudes and lifestyle choices of young people.

You will be responsible for;

• Leading a consistent, well trained and stable team
• Providing effective support and supervision to team members
• Providing case work direction and support
• Undertaking On-Call responsibilities
• Collaborating with DCP to deliver excellent services to children and young people

ABOUT YOU:

• Degree or tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology or relevant equivalent (or lesser qualification complemented by substantial relevant experience)
• Sound communication and interpersonal skills
• An understanding of working with children and young people with complex and challenging behaviour
• Demonstrated leadership capability
• An understanding of the child protection system
• An understanding of the impacts of trauma on children and young people
• An understanding of child development

YOU WILL NEED TO:

• Hold a current First Aid Certificate
• Hold a current Safe Environments Certificate
• Undergo pre-employment testing as part of the recruitment process which will include psychological assessments
• Hold a current unencumbered Australian driver’s licence and be willing to drive
