The Opportunity:

As the Community Development Officer, you will use your strong organisational and interpersonal skills to plan coordinate and deliver community development activities, programs and events that aim to increase social capital and community connections for the community of Onkaparinga.

You will work engage with other stakeholders in local communities including individuals, residents’ groups, Local Government and other community based organisations to determine need, attract additional resources and identify and deliver community development and family support programs. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating daily activities
  • Liaising with volunteers and interacting with community members
  • Actively contributing to the development of new programs within the site and compilation of funding submissions to support those activities
  • Recording data to meet the requirements of various funding bodies including Results Based Accountability.

About You:

  • Certificate IV Community Services or equivalent or substantial experience in the field
  • Ability to plan, implement and evaluate community development programs and projects
  • Sound interpersonal skills to effectively engage and establish rapport with participants, staff and external agencies
  • Ability to prioritise workload, and work independently
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Understanding of social justice principles – including equity of access, discrimination and equal opportunity, individuals’ rights and privacy
  • Experience preparing, implementing, evaluating and reporting on grant funded programs

You Will Need To:

  • Complete our online application process

  • Hold a current unencumbered driver’s licence and be willing to drive
