The Judicial Commission of NSW is an independent statutory corporation established under the Judicial Officers Act 1986. Two of the Commission's functions are to assist courts to achieve consistency in imposing sentences and organise a scheme of continuing education and training for judicial officers.

About the role

We are looking for a talented and skilled legal editor to join our Publications team. This role is responsible for editing and producing a wide range of educational and informative publications primarily for judicial officers in New South Wales.

A rewarding opportunity awaits for someone with substantial experience as a legal editor, including strong writing, legal research and verification skills and proven experience with XML publishing tools.

The successful candidate will contribute to the Judicial Commission’s current and emerging range of publications. The role offers:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Formal training in law
  • High level of knowledge and experience in digital publishing.
  • Superior written and oral communication skills with proven ability to update loose leaf services
  • Demonstrated ability to read and understand legislation.

Total maximum remuneration package $104,867 (including salary range of $85,744 to $94,610 pa, employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading).
